Press Release

On the occasion of our 100th walk on the 29th of August 2021, Boots & Beards unveiled the pledge board for Outdoors Against Racism - our new campaign. Outdoors Against Racism is an appeal to everyone who enjoys the great outdoors to unite and stand against the ugly face of racism that recently tarnished our majestic landscapes. The wealth of varied landscapes in Scotland - and all of Great Britain for that matter - must be made available to, looked after and enjoyed by people of every race, colour, creed and religion. Not a single person should feel intimidated when doing so, or that they are not welcome in any type of outdoor public space.

The campaign was unanimously welcomed by all in attendance at the 100th walk celebration where the pledge card was signed by Sport Scotland, John Muir Trust, Duke of Edinburgh, Jahama Estate and Lomond Mountain Rescue. This pledge card will be making its way around Britain to give other organisations the chance to show their support to Outdoors Against Racism.

We would like to thank those organisations who have already pledged their allegiance to this effort. For further enquiries about Outdoors Against Racism, please contact info@outdoorsagainstracism.org
